Poetry: You Left

Leave me alone!
For you have wronged me!
For you lied to me!
For you possessed my each day!
And now your leaving?

Shakepearesque,
You told me:
“I understand the fury in your words,
But not your words.”
A loathsome line in Othello.

How can I know?
What really happened that night?

You left,
Yes you did.
Without understanding
That it was a misunderstanding.

You left me,
Left me hanging
By the hangman’s knot
From the ceiling.

Lest you not know
That the worst thing you did
Was you left me halfway.
Left me still breathing,
Suffering from still living.

You came back,
After a few days back.
But you came late
And now that I have left you
Do you see how it feels?
To be left
Without knowing the true story?

Now that I’m dead,
Do you understand
The words from my tongue
And the fury as well?
